Facebook feed post and story size
Facebook's feed shows portrait posts up to 1080 × 1350 px (4:5) in full on phones, which takes the most room; square 1080 × 1080 works everywhere. Stories are 1080 × 1920 px. Meta asks you to leave about 14% (250 px) at the top and bottom free of text, where the profile and reply bars sit. A link you share uses the page's 1200 × 630 og:image. The cover photo has its own page: Facebook cover photo size.
Pinterest pin size
A standard pin is 1000 × 1500 px (2:3), the shape Pinterest recommends. Square pins (1000 × 1000) also work but get less room in the feed. Pins taller than about 1:2.1 are cut off in the feed and need a tap to open, so long infographics lose their bottom half at first glance. Video pin covers are 1080 × 1920. Images can be up to 20 MB in JPG or PNG.
Snapchat story size
Stories and Spotlight use the same 1080 × 1920 px (9:16) canvas as Instagram and TikTok. Keep text out of roughly the top and bottom 150 px, where Snapchat puts its own bars. Guides disagree by a few pixels, so give it a little extra room. Static images can be up to 5 MB.
Etsy listing photo size
Etsy recommends listing photos of 3000 × 2250 px (4:3), and at least 2000 px wide so shoppers can zoom. Search results can show listings as square thumbnails, which trims the sides of a 4:3 photo, so keep the item centered; the tool draws that square on the listing preset. The shop icon is 500 × 500. Guides quote two shop banner sizes, 3360 × 840 and 1600 × 400, but both are 4:1, so make it at 3360 × 840 and it works either way.
Shopify product image size
Use 2048 × 2048 px squares. Shopify accepts up to 5000 × 5000 px (25 megapixels) and 20 MB, and anything over 800 × 800 lets shoppers zoom. Pick one shape for the whole store: themes line products up in a grid, and mixed shapes make it ragged. Theme banners vary by theme, so check your theme's settings for those.
eBay photo size
eBay needs at least 500 px on the longest side and recommends 1600 px, which turns on zoom. Files can be up to 12 MB. A 1600 × 1600 square with the item centered works for every listing layout.
Amazon product image size
The main image needs a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), with the product filling about 85% of the frame and nothing else in it: no text, props or watermarks. Make it at least 1000 px on the longest side so zoom works; 2000 × 2000 is a safe target. To put a cut-out product on white, choose Fit whole image with a white fill, then zoom until it fills most of the frame.
Why exact sizes matter
Every platform resizes and recompresses what you upload. Give it the exact pixel size and there's nothing to rescale, so your image goes through one round of processing instead of two. Upload the wrong shape and the platform crops it for you, usually straight through the middle. Where a platform caps the file size, the export is kept under it automatically.
Every size here was checked in October 2026. Zones the platforms don't publish were measured from the apps and are marked approximate in the resizer.
